Job Summary

As a Costume Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional costume care and services to support the entertainment productions at Disney World Anaheim. This is a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes, collaborating with our talented team of costumers, designers, and performers to bring the magic of Disney to life.

Key Responsibilities:


Costume Preparation and Maintenance: Tag, color, artificially glamour, and perform shoe repair on costumes. Hand sew, wash, press, fix, and set up ensembles for shows. Operate specialized clothing care equipment, including liners and industrial steam irons.
Costume Management: Pack ensembles for shipment and complete paperwork for tracking and stock. Receive and deliver show outfits for repairs, modifications, and fittings.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with costumers to set up and collect closet and accessories for fittings. Create change tickets and dress performers. Assemble pattern cards and inventory show demands.
Inventory Management: Stock ensembles, supplies, and fabric for the Costume Storage space. Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies.
Adapting to Changing Situations: Make on-the-spot decisions to ensure the smooth operation of shows in crisis situations, such as costume repairs or deliveries.
Additional Requirements: Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, including gloves, face shields, goggles, and refillable hand sanitizers. Handle various chemicals and supplies as needed.


Requirements and Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree: A degree in a relevant field, such as costume design, fashion, or theater arts, is preferred.
Driving and Transportation: A valid driver's license and the ability to drive a company vehicle, including an automatic transmission box truck.
Physical Demands: Ability to work with costumes made of fur, fiberglass, and plastics. Physical stamina to lift, carry, and maneuver costumes and equipment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office, and ability to navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously.
Material Knowledge: Familiarity with fabric, textiles, and costume materials.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
