Job Summary The Data Science Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies, processes, and frameworks to integrate and analyze various data sets, including structured and unstructured data. Key Responsibilities Develops and executes strategies, processes, and frameworks to integrate and analyze various data sets, including structured and unstructured data. Manages daily operational activities, directs teams assigned to projects, and ensures that resources are allocated accurately according to strategic plans. Oversees issues proactively, including timely identification and remediation of opportunities. Creates software programs, algorithms, dashboards, data tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate, and evaluate datasets. Stays up-to-date with new scientific techniques and technologies. Collaborates with functional specialty units to drive business solutions and direction. Establishes credibility with partners while managing expectations and ensuring regular, consistent, and effective communication with colleagues and partners. May develop a budget for the functional area and manage budget to plan. Keeps up-to-date with industry-leading best practices and brings them to the attention of the leadership team for innovative application. Allocates available resources to meet operating targets and creates and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training, and development opportunities and performance management processes. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline. Experience with analytical and statistical software like SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, and/or others to perform analysis and interpret data. In-depth knowledge of SQL and open-source data science and statistics packages like Python, R, Spark, etc. Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal (peers, colleagues, and leadership) and external (business community, customers, and vendors) partners within a matrix organization to develop strategies that meet office objectives within budget and timelines. At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace. At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership. Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline. Experience communicating at the executive level. Experience leading cross-functional teams.
