About the Job
The Training Information Insights team plays a critical role in the advancement of Google for Education by providing in-depth understanding of our business and product performance, and developing insights to inform key decisions. As a Data Analyst and Insights Professional in this team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product and Engineering, to build exceptional products that delight users worldwide. Your primary responsibility will be to lead proactive investigations to identify and measure new opportunities, and conduct thorough analyses to better understand user behavior and engagement with our products.

Key Responsibilities

Define, own, and refine product success metrics, working with Product Management, UX, and Engineering to develop a comprehensive metric framework that ties to business outcomes.
Report, track, and analyze key metrics, making recommendations to improve them, and identifying critical product functionalities and evaluating their business impact.
Collaborate with Engineering teams to identify and address instrumentation gaps, ensuring accurate data collection for key functionalities, with a focus on business-generating user journeys.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to influence, prioritize, and support product strategy, applying technical expertise with observational data analysis to address critical business questions.
Communicate effective presentations of data-driven insights and recommendations to various levels of stakeholders.


Essential Qualifications

A four-year degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Design, Physical Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 3 years of experience in analysis applications (e.g., data mining, statistical analysis, or solving business problems), and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with experimental design, statistical modeling, data analysis, survey methodology, and statistical modeling.
Experience in operational analysis or project management support (e.g., consulting, management reporting, Six Sigma certification).
Ability to apply statistical training to real-world data.
Ability to complete projects independently and work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills.


Skills and Competencies
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You should be proficient in coding languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and have experience with data analysis and statistical modeling.
