About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Customer Service Officer to join our team at blithequark, based in the Wollongong office. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office, providing the perfect blend of collaboration, connection, and flexibility. As a Customer Service Officer, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to our fund members, ensuring their inquiries are handled with care, professionalism, and a personal touch. Key Responsibilities As a Customer Service Officer at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include: Answering incoming phone calls and emails from fund members, providing factual information to assist with enquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner. Actively listening to members to gain a practical understanding of their situation, building rapport, and offering empathetic assistance to ensure their needs are met. Ensuring enquiries requiring follow-up are placed in the relevant queue for further action, documenting client issues, and escalating issues to appropriate parties to resolve. Researching to respond to customer inquiries and responding formally to correspondence, either verbally or in writing, utilising all reference material necessary to provide an informed response to the customer. Providing exceptional customer service, exceeding customer expectations, and contributing to the development of a positive and supportive team culture. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Outstanding communication, active listening, and customer service skills, with the willingness to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Proven experience in handling high work volumes, preferably within a customer service, call centre, or similar environment, with a strong focus on attention to detail and thoroughness. Excellent computer literacy and capacity to use online information systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems. A strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service, with a customer-centric approach and a passion for building strong relationships with fund members. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications and experience would be highly regarded: Previous experience in financial services and/or the superannuation industry, with a strong understanding of the sector and its regulations. Superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to hold a conversation and interact with our members in a professional and empathetic manner. The ability to produce well-written correspondence, with strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
