We're a mission-driven organization that values empathy, flexibility, and innovation in everything we do. **The Role** As a chat-based mental health coach at arenaflex, you'll play a vital role in supporting young people through our chat platform. You'll provide on-demand and weekly coaching to students from diverse and historically marginalized communities, using empathy and awareness to create a safe and supportive environment. You'll also follow established protocols, especially during crisis-based chats, with support from licensed Coach Supervisors. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide on-demand and weekly coaching to young people through our chat platform * Use empathy and awareness to support students from diverse and historically marginalized communities * Follow established protocols, especially during crisis-based chats, with support from licensed Coach Supervisors * Continually learn and adapt to new online platforms and tools with ongoing training and support * Collaborate with our team to develop and refine our coaching programs and protocols **What You'll Need** * Experience in mental health, youth work, or coaching * Reliable laptop or computer (no tablets or cell phones) and internet with a minimum 50 mbps download speed * A quiet, distraction-free workspace * Must reside & be in the U.S. for the duration of your contract with arenaflex **Coaching Hours & Flexibility** We adapt to the needs of the students we serve, which means that seasons, world events, school obligations, and the time of year can all influence the demand for coaching at any given time. You'll support students when and where they need it, sometimes for 1-3 hours a week and sometimes not at all. Coaching happens during school hours (8am-6pm EST / 5am-3pm PST). **Training and Support** If you're new to coaching, don't worry! We offer the arenaflex Coach Certification Program, a comprehensive 24-hour training program that covers the fundamentals of chat-based mental health coaching. You'll commit 4-5 hours per week from November to December 2024 to complete the program.
