About the Role We're seeking a seasoned Category Advisor to join our team, working closely with Walmart to elevate our partnership and drive category success. As a Category Advisor, you'll be the go-to expert for category insights, analytics, and merchandising solutions, providing strategic guidance to our retail partners and internal stakeholders. This remote role requires occasional local travel in the Northwest Arkansas area and offers the perfect blend of autonomy, challenge, and opportunity for growth. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for category buyers and space planning teams, delivering exceptional customer service and partnership. Provide unbiased thought leadership and expertise on category insights, analytics, and trends, driving business decisions through data-driven recommendations. Develop and present deep-dive analyses on category performance, innovation, shopper behavior trends, and market share, informing strategic initiatives and growth opportunities. Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions on space allocation, merchandising fixtures, assortment, and POG flow, optimizing category performance and customer engagement. Lead the day-to-day POG development process, ensuring compliance with POG rules and technical specifications, and collaborating with developers to translate category strategy into automation rules. Partner with buyers to develop category strategies, providing presentation-ready decks and relay walk-throughs for senior leadership. Train space teams on category strategy and requirements, ensuring seamless execution and alignment. Stay up-to-date on emerging category and market trends, providing ongoing updates and insights to drive business growth and innovation. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (MBA a plus). 5+ years of experience in Category Management, Insights, or Analytics within the consumer-packaged goods industry, with a preference for Category Advisor/Captain experience. 5+ years of experience in data analysis and interpretation, with a strong understanding of data sources and solutions (Syndicated POS, Panel, Luminate, Retail Link). Demonstrated leadership, professional maturity, communication, influence, planning, project management, and critical thinking skills. Strong PC skills, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as experience with space planning software (JDA, ShelfIQ, etc.). Eligibility to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Experience working with major retailers, such as Walmart. Advanced knowledge of category management best practices and industry trends. Strong understanding of the juice and beverage industry.
