Job Summary
Provides in‑person synchronous and blended asynchronous instruction to adult learners in English language acquisition, incorporating reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and civics. Develops academic skills needed for transitions to college or career pathways and supports workforce system outcomes. Follows a web‑based curriculum contextualized to in‑demand industries, MCCCD fields of interest, and Arizona Adult Education standards. Utilizes technology to build digital literacy, conducts assessments and progress reviews, and maintains attendance records and certification requirements.
Essential
Functions
• Instruct students in ELAA classes using blended learning strategies (70%). Covers all English skills—reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, civics—within in‑demand industry contexts.
• Engage in student assessment, review progress data, set academic goals, share career pathway opportunities, and complete scholarship referral forms (10%).
• Maintain attendance records for synchronous, LMS, and asynchronous activities and support roster maintenance (10%).
• Participate in job‑embedded professional learning communities, position‑specific training, and other duties as assigned (10%).
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Experience teaching in Language Arts, Reading, English, or ESL.
• Must possess or be able to obtain an Arizona Adult Education Certification within 60 days of hire.
Special Working Conditions
This position may involve a combination of remote work and in‑person instruction at RSC facilities or partner locations. Potential sites include:
• RSC Avondale – 420 N. Central Avenue, Avondale, AZ 85323
• RSC Downtown – 619 N. 7th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85007
• RSC Northern – 1715 W. Northern Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85021
• RSC Southern – 3320 S. Price Road, Tempe, AZ 85282
• RSC Surprise – 12535 W. Smokey Drive, Surprise, AZ 85378
• RSC Thomas – 3631 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85019
