Entry Level Staff Engineer - Mechanical HVAC Design

Join Tighe & Bond as an Entry Level Staff Engineer to design mechanical HVAC systems and support infrastructure projects in a collaborative, hybrid work environment. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Design mechanical air and hydronic system drawings, details, flow diagrams, and system concepts • Perform heating and cooling load calculations and create biddable mechanical design plans using AutoCAD and Revit • Observe construction, support construction administration, review equipment submittals, respond to contractor questions, and perform field surveys of existing mechanical systems • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and the Building Services team to deliver integrated HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection solutions About You What you'll need: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Building Systems, or Energy Engineering • Passed FE Exam or planning to pass by June 2026 • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Eagerness to learn, intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and excellent organizational skills Preferred qualifications: • Master's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Building Systems, or Energy Engineering • Previous internship experience in mechanical design and familiarity with relevant project types • Experience with construction administration tasks and knowledge of various HVAC system types • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD MEP and Revit Compensation & Benefits • Salary range: $65,785 to $86,343 per year • Annual salary for Bachelor's degree graduates: $78,208 • Annual salary for Master's degree graduates: $82,368 • Annual bonus, profit sharing, and employee stock ownership plan • Best in class medical, dental, and vision insurance • Wellness rewards and reimbursements • Tuition reimbursement and qualified student loan paydown contributions • Reimbursements for licensure/certification preparation and fees • Summer Fridays flextime and hybrid work environment • Pet insurance and adoption assistance Training & Development Tighe & Bond offers structured career paths with professional development opportunities including tuition reimbursement, internal training, conference attendance, professional memberships, and mentorship from experienced staff.
