Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer

As an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer, you will perform geotechnical engineering design and analysis for infrastructure projects, participate in field assignments, and work alongside experienced engineers and project managers. Responsibilities Perform geotechnical engineering design and analysis of foundation systems, retaining structures and slopes for transportation and water infrastructure projects for both public and private clients Participate in field assignments that will include observation of explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing); geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; and inspection of the construction of geotechnical structures (earth retaining structures, deep foundations, dams, tunnels, and shallow foundations), as well as oversight of subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs Skills Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering or 0-2 years of experience Flexibility to travel for office and field assignments Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and geotechnical design software Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain within 6 months Previous internship in geotechnical evaluations soil and rock classification, design analysis of foundation and ground retention systems Knowledge of and experience with LPile, Shaft, Slide, Bentley gINT, Bentley MicroStation, and AutoCAD Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future Benefits Medical Dental Vision Basic life insurance 401(k) plan The ability to purchase company stock at a discount Deferred compensation plan Executive Deferral Plan Unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) Seven paid holidays One floating holiday Caregiver leave Merit increases Performance discretionary bonus Stock Company Overview Jacobs leads the global professional services sector delivering solutions for a more connected, sustainable world.
