Job Summary We are seeking a highly qualified Vocal Music Teacher to join our team of educators in Baltimore County Public Schools. As a Vocal Music Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and providing instruction in vocal music to students in grades K-12. You will work closely with other teachers, administrators, and community members to develop and implement music programs that align with our district's goals and priorities. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement instructional programs in vocal music that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students Develop and deliver lesson plans that align with state and national music education standards Create a safe and orderly learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administrators Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and community members to develop and implement music programs Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including grades, attendance, and disciplinary records Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Certificate in Music Education Knowledge of the principles and practices of pedagogy, curriculum, and effective instructional techniques Skill in instructing students, preparing and implementing lesson plans, and communicating with students, parents, and administrators Technology competency, including database, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, and related applications Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Music Education or a related field Experience working with students in grades K-12 Knowledge of music theory, history, and criticism Experience with music technology and digital tools Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and administrators Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Passion for music education and commitment to inspiring students to reach their full potential Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Baltimore County Public Schools, we are committed to supporting the ongoing professional development of our educators.
