About the position As a Network Operations Engineer at Verizon, you will play a critical role in enhancing the company's network capabilities. This position involves providing technical expertise in network transformation, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and service delivery. You will work in a 24x7 operations environment, addressing network outages, service issues, and optimizing network systems to improve customer experiences. Responsibilities • Provide technical expertise in network transformation and maintenance. • Perform troubleshooting and configuration changes in a 24x7 operations environment. • Evaluate network coverage and make recommendations for improvements. • Conduct triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events. • Generate and update problem-tracking tickets and improve business practices. • Escalate issues to appropriate internal/external engineering teams for resolution. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or two or more years of relevant work experience. • Three or more years of relevant work experience in a network operations role. • Valid driver's license. • Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. Nice-to-haves • Technical degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline. • Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technologies like Telephony Switching, Data Communications, and Network Routers. • Computer support experience, including troubleshooting PC hardware and configurations. • Vendor management experience.
