As a technical manager on a growing team, you will be instrumental in leading and developing a team of engineers while ensuring high technical standards and alignment with business objectives.If you're passionate about leadership and technical excellence with strong software engineering and SDLC fundamentals, and an enthusiasm for our engineering culture of continuous improvement - come join us!On a regular basis you'll be:Participating in technical discussions and reviews to maintain high technical standardsCollaborating with other departments on cross-functional initiativesManage resource allocations and project planningProviding technical guidance and mentorship to direct reportsEngaging in recruitment and interviewing processes to grow the teamHelp triage, investigate root causes, and support critical system issues as they ariseConducting regular one-on-ones with direct reports for performance monitoring and mentorshipChampioning and continuously improving Steno's SDLC processFacilitating communication regarding engineering-related compliance activities (SOC2, Penetration Testing, etc.)Reviewing, managing, and approving employee expense submissionsYou're gonna crush it if:You possess a track record of developing talented software teamsYou have experience with multiple software project methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)You understand compliance and security considerations in software developmentYou have experience in adapting processes and procedures in response to changing team and business needsYou're passionate about revolutionizing traditional industries through technologyThis job may not be for you if:You’d prefer not to “roll up your sleeves” to when it comes to getting technical and solving problemsYou're uncomfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities in response to business needsYou prefer working in highly structured, process-heavy environmentsYou're not interested in contributing to recruitment and team-building effortsSome Requirements:Strong technical background with broad knowledge of software developmentExcellent leadership and mentoring skillsStrong communication skills, both technical and non-technicalAbility to balance technical considerations with business objectivesExperience with software development lifecycles and best practicesProblem-solving skills and ability to manage complex projectsContribution to maintaining Steno’s compliance certifications and managing security standardsBe comfortable leading team meetings and facilitating discussionsCompensation & Benefits Salary - $190,000 - $230,000Health, Vision, & Dental Benefits - generous company-sponsored health plans for both employees and dependents, including comprehensive vision & dental Wellness/Mental Health - shared benefits to be used among employees and families Flexible Paid Time Off - allowing employees to find balance in their lives Options of Equity - we know our success is nothing without our team Access to a 401k through Guideline A home office setup and a monthly stipend to offset internet and phone costsOur TeamOur Tech Team is a small, highly reliable, constantly innovative team.
