What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist in daily trading execution and administrative tasks under the VP of Trading & Risk, including support for market participation and performance KPIs
- Analyze performance across markets and conditions to help develop fundamentals-based price forecasts
- Gather and analyze market data to inform and optimize battery energy storage system trading strategies
- Deliver training on trading procedures and ensure compliance with operational protocols and market rules
- Track and assess market rule changes to evaluate their impact on trading strategies and system performance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the energy sector, with power settlement experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; preferred experience with Python, SQL, and PowerBI
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to draw valid conclusions from complex datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance trading strategies
- Experience in power settlement, particularly in ERCOT and ISO-NE markets
- Demonstrated ability to simplify technical analysis for various stakeholders
