Elementary English / Phonics Teacher Needed for Children’s App Audio Recording
I am developing a children’s phonics learning app and I am looking for an elementary English teacher, international school teacher, reading teacher, ESL teacher, or phonics teacher to record accurate phonics sound units.
This is not a regular voice-over project. The main requirement is accurate isolated phoneme pronunciation and segmented blending sounds for young learners.
Ideal candidate:
- Current or former elementary English teacher
- Strong experience teaching phonics or early literacy
- General American English pronunciation preferred
- Experience with ESL / ELL students is a plus
- Clear, warm, child-friendly voice
- Able to record clean audio from a quiet environment
Important pronunciation requirements:
- /p/ should not sound like “puh”
- /t/ should not sound like “tuh”
- /k/ should not sound like “kuh”
- /m/ should not sound like “muh”
- /s/ should not sound like “suh”
- /ŋ/ should not have an extra /g/ sound
- /θ/ and /ð/ must be clearly different
- /æ/, /ɛ/, and /ɪ/ must be clearly distinct
- General American /r/, /ɝ/, and /ɚ/ should sound natural
Project process:
1. Start with a paid 20-item audition.
2. If the audition passes, continue with a core sound unit recording package.
3. Future batches may be added if the collaboration works well.
Delivery requirements:
- Separate audio file for each item
- WAV preferred
- 44.1kHz or 48kHz preferred
- Mono preferred
- Clean audio, no background noise
- No clipping or over-compression
- Consistent volume across files
- File names must follow the provided list
Usage rights:
The recordings will be used in a commercial children’s phonics mobile app and web app. Your quote must include worldwide, perpetual commercial usage rights. The buyer may edit, trim, normalize, convert formats, and integrate the recordings into the app and related educational materials.
