Electrical Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager, Commercial Electrical Location: Orange County, CA Compensation: $110,000 to $160,000 base salary, depending on experience Industry: Commercial Electrical Construction Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing electrical contractor in Orange County focused on commercial construction projects. This individual will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout and will be responsible for managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, vendors, client communication, and overall project execution. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial electrical construction and can manage multiple projects while keeping quality, safety, and client satisfaction at a high level. Key Responsibilities • Manage commercial electrical projects from kickoff through final closeout • Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial performance • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and scope of work • Coordinate with clients, general contractors, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors • Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement, and project documentation • Build and maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are met • Support buyout and purchasing of materials and subcontracted scopes • Work closely with Superintendents and field leadership to drive production and resolve issues • Attend project meetings and provide clear updates on schedule, cost, and job progress • Identify potential project risks early and develop solutions to keep work on track • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in line with contract requirements • Maintain strong client relationships and help drive repeat business opportunities Qualifications • 5+ years of Project Management experience within commercial electrical construction • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, project sequencing, and field operations • Experience managing multiple projects at once in a fast paced environment • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change order management • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents • Strong communication and leadership skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms • Ability to work well with field teams, office staff, clients, and subcontractors • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites throughout Orange County and surrounding areas Preferred Qualifications • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field • Electrical trade background or prior field experience • Experience working for an electrical subcontractor on commercial projects • Familiarity with public works, healthcare, education, TI, industrial, or ground up commercial projects Compensation and Benefits • Base salary between $110,000 and $160,000 depending on experience • Vehicle allowance or company vehicle • Bonus potential • Medical, dental, and vision benefits • Paid time off and holidays • 401(k) • Strong long term growth opportunity with a stable Orange County electrical contractor Ideal Candidate This role is best suited for a hands on commercial electrical Project Manager who knows how to keep jobs moving, communicate well with clients and field teams, and take ownership of both the operational and financial side of a project.
