Design Engineer - Stormwater

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our Stormwater team and contribute to impactful infrastructure projects supporting state and local agencies across Colorado. In this role, you will help deliver meaningful stormwater improvement projects that enhance resilience, protect the environment, and support growing communities.ResponsibilitiesDevelop innovative stormwater improvement designs, including urban stream restoration, culverts, storm drains, detention facilities, water quality features, and erosion and sediment control planningConduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, geomorphic evaluations, floodplain studies, and scour analyses to ensure robust project outcomesAssist in obtaining environmental permits and compliance with regulatory requirementsCollaborating with colleagues and technicians, providing guidance, and ensuring accurate implementation of designsPrepare construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and occasionally Bentley ORD, creating construction quantities, specifications, technical reports, and guide the work of techniciansOther duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a similar engineering discipline from an accredited college or university0-3 years of experience with focus on design of stormwater improvementsStrong written and oral communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate within a teamDetail-oriented and self-motivated professional with exceptional organizational skillsA master's degree is a plusExposure to hydrologic and hydraulic computer programs (HEC-RAS, SRH2D/SMS, CUHP, SWMM, culvert/open channel design tools) and utilization of MHFD criteria desiredExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred and experience with MicroStation/ORD a plusEngineer Intern (EI) certification in Colorado or another state preferredCompany OverviewMuller Engineering Company is a civil engineering company providing stormwater and flood control management services.
