Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Educational Assistant to join our team for the 23/24 school year. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers and students, helping to create a productive and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities Assist teachers with instructional activities, including preparing materials, setting up equipment, and facilitating small group instruction Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students who require additional academic support Help to maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring that students have the resources they need to succeed Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement, motivation, and academic achievement Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, providing regular updates on student progress and responding to concerns or questions Essential Qualifications Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university Passing score on the Para Pro test or ability to obtain educational assistant licensure issued by the New Mexico Public Education Department Ability to obtain a level three license issued by the NM Public Education Department Successful passage of background check Preferred Qualifications Experience as an educational assistant or in a related field Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques to support students with diverse learning needs Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with teachers, staff, and administrators to support student success Skill and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and families from diverse backgrounds. You will also need to be highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Additionally, you will need to be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
