Role Database Administrator Location Remote Pay Range $50.00 - $60.00/Hr. on W2 (Without Benefits) Duration 24 months (contract to hire)
Job Description:
ā¢ Seeking an experienced technically skilled database administrator with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in SQL database administration.
ā¢ In this role, the DBA will be the respondent to database problems that arise and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting.
ā¢ Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
ā¢ Prepare documentations and specifications Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
ā¢ Profile server resource usage and optimize and tweak as necessary Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
ā¢ Good verbal communication skills.
ā¢ Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.
ā¢ Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
ā¢ Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
ā¢ Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance. Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.
ā¢ Regularly liaising with IT project managers and database programmers.
ā¢ Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
ā¢ Experience with some of the modern relational databases
ā¢ Skilled at optimizing large, complicated SQL statements
ā¢ Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
ā¢ Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary
ā¢ Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
ā¢ Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
ā¢ Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing
ā¢ Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GitLab Familiar with SISS packages
