Job Title: Data Engineer (L3/L4)Location: EU (Remote)Start Date: ASAPContract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)Working Method: 100% Remote (with 1-2 business trips per year; expenses reimbursed separately)Language Requirements: English (Fluent)Experience Level: Mid to Senior (4-7 years)Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team, with a focus on developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python and SQL, and demonstrate a strong understanding of modern data engineering practices. You will work cross-functionally with other engineering and business teams to ensure a robust, scalable, and efficient data infrastructure that supports analytics and business operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to ensure smooth data flow and integrationMonitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance issues to ensure reliability and uptimeImplement best practices in data quality, governance, and securityContinuously optimize ETL processes for performance and cost-efficiencyContribute to infrastructure automation and provisioning using Terraform or similar toolsManage orchestration tools such as Airflow for workflow scheduling and executionRequired Skills & ExperienceUniversity degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field47 years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical roleStrong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL knowledgeExperience with ETL/ELT development and pipeline optimizationFamiliarity with cloud-based data platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Experience working with BigQuery for scalable analyticsKnowledge of orchestration tools like Apache AirflowProficient in infrastructure-as-code practices using TerraformStrong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)Self-starter attitude with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solvingIf youre passionate about building robust data solutions in a cloud-native environment and enjoy working on high-impact projects in a collaborative setting, we would love to hear from you.Originally posted on Himalayas
