Company DescriptionOur project involves collaborating with a US-based consulting firm providing data science as a service to a diverse range of clients.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Data Collection Specialist to join our client's team in a full-time role. You will play a critical role in collecting, formatting, and maintaining data from publicly accessible web sources through automated methods. Responsibilities:Write, maintain, and execute automated scripts in Python to collect data from public web sources.Use tools like Scrapy and Selenium (while minimizing Selenium usage) to extract, structure, and format web data.Monitor and maintain ongoing web scraping projects, ensuring data quality and consistency.Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure compatibility of data with internal systems.Develop frameworks to improve data quality and reduce maintenance costs.Launch new data collection initiatives while optimizing and improving existing processes.Qualifications2-4 years of relevant experience in data collection, web scraping, or similar roles.Proficiency in PythonScrapy and Selenium is a plus.Strong understanding of how websites are built and structured (static, Web 2.0, SPAs).Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.Creative problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle large datasets.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a virtual team environment.Willingness to learn new skills and expand existing knowledge.Additional InformationThis is a remote full-time role.Working Schedule: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM Romania Time, with overlap to collaborate with the US team.Get picky and choose a career that matches your mindset and lifestyle.
