Data Analyst – Power Platform & Project Management

Overview: LMI is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with experience in Microsoft Power Platform to support data analysis, reporting, and application development efforts for a major office at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role is primarily execution-focused, supporting data-driven decision-making through dashboard development, data validation, and analysis. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products and insights that align with mission needs. Responsibilities: Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and applications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) Perform data entry, validation, and basic quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of datasets Assist with user testing activities and document issues for tracking in tools such as Jira Support backlog activities by capturing requirements, enhancements, and bugs Create and update reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support program reporting needs Use Excel (including formulas and basic data manipulation) for analysis and reporting support Work with team members and client stakeholders to understand data needs and support solution development Assist with project tracking tasks, including updating status reports and schedules Identify and escalate data issues or inconsistencies to senior team members Support the creation of documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures Stay familiar with Power Platform tools and apply standard practices in daily work Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred) 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, or similar roles 1-3+ years of experience with Power BI required Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI preferred; Power Apps/Automate a plus) Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and basic data analysis Basic experience with data querying or transformation tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL) Familiarity with Jira or similar tracking tools is a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow direction in a team environment A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance Desired: Experience supporting federal or government clients Familiarity with healthcare or program evaluation data Exposure to Power BI dashboards and reporting Experience with SQL. Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum environments Interest in pursuing Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300) Master’s degree preferred.
