Commercial Underwriting Counsel Attorney - Hybrid (Orlando)

Pernini Legal LLC is a national leader in commercial title and escrow services, seeking a Commercial Underwriting Counsel to provide underwriting guidance on complex real estate transactions. The role involves advising on real estate settlement procedures, interpreting underwriting standards, and ensuring compliance with regulations while working collaboratively with internal teams and clients. Responsibilities Provide underwriting support and counsel on the issuance of title commitments and policies Interpret and apply underwriting standards within delegated authority Advise colleagues on real estate settlement procedures and requirements Support resolution of title issues and guide transaction strategy Communicate underwriting decisions to internal teams and external partners Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement Skills JD from an ABA-accredited law school required Active Bar Admission in FLORIDA, in good standing Strong judgment, customer-centric communication skills Ability to manage a diverse pipeline of commercial transactions while applying underwriting standards and company guidelines Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions Ability to work hybrid 3 days a week into Orlando-metro area based office 1-2 years of experience in title insurance or comparable commercial real estate experience in a law firm setting preferred Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law, including title and survey review Interest in title insurance, understanding of title insurance and desire to learn federal & state title regulations, interpret and apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits Solid understanding of commercial real estate transactions, title insurance and commercial real estate closing settlement processes, and applicable federal and state regulations Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and clients Strong analytical, negotiation, and business acumen Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage significant transaction volume Effective verbal and written communicator who can deliver guidance with clarity, professionalism, and diplomacy Collaborative mindset with ability to act decisively when needed Creative, solution-oriented approach to resolving complex title challenges Benefits Quarterly bonus participation Employee Stock Purchase Plan Top-tier medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance 401(k) plan with employer matching Paid parental leave Generous PTO and sick leave Additional perks Company Overview Pernini Legal brings over three decades of unparalleled legal experience.
