College of Arts and Letters College Care Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator, II)
San Diego State University is seeking a College Care Coordinator to support centralized procurement operations within the College of Arts and Letters. This role involves managing procure-to-pay activities, collaborating with various university departments, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies while providing excellent service to faculty and staff.ResponsibilitiesProvide centralized procurement support for faculty and departments, managing procure-to-pay activities for supplies and servicesCollaborate with Contract & Procurement Management and Business & Financial Affairs to ensure timely and compliant purchasingInterpret and apply procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to guide purchasing decisionsDeliver responsive, customer-focused service to faculty, staff, and studentsSupport new faculty startup funding by coordinating allowable purchases and ensuring adherence to funding guidelinesTrack, monitor, and report expenditures to ensure funds are used within established timelines and policiesAdapt quickly to evolving systems, tools, and processes while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracySkillsFully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practicesAbility to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structuresThorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuationAbility to clearly communicate orally and in writingSome positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmeticAbility to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packagesDemonstrated experience in procurement, budgeting, and financial reportingAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Gmail and Calendar)Knowledge of university procurement policies and procedures, particularly within a higher education environmentExperience coordinating with university departments, research foundations, and external agenciesFamiliarity with Oracle systems, including Oracle IExpenseBenefitsGenerous Time Off: 15 paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.Retirement: CalPERS pension plan with retiree healthcare, and reciprocal agreements with other California public retirement systems, including the UC.Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision options at low or no cost.Education Support: CSU tuition fee waiver for employees and eligible dependents.Optional Offerings: FlexCash, life and disability insurance, legal and pet plans.Campus & Community: Access to the library, campus events, employee groups, and volunteer and social activities.Company OverviewSan Diego State University is a public institution offering diverse educational experiences.
