Responsibilities:
The Collections Specialist is responsible for administrative tasks, the collection of outstanding account receivables (insurance & patients), all aspects of collection, analysis, and resolution of billing problems, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency.
Essential Duties:
⢠Provide customer service regarding collection issues.
⢠Resolve insurance discrepancies and short payments.
⢠Utilize knowledge of payor portals, automated clearing houses, explanation of benefits (EOBâs), and other tools to successfully complete Accounts Receivable tasks.
⢠Document in detail problem/action/and follow up with insurance companies until claims are fully adjudicated.
⢠Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts.
⢠Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
⢠Initiate and resolve Appeals for many different insurance payers as assigned.
⢠Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
⢠High School diploma or GED required, college degree is preferred.
⢠Three (3)âfive (5) yearsâ high volume collections experience.
⢠Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience preferred.
