Cloud Migration Engineer (AWS to Azure)(Consultant/Part-time) (Remote)

Remote Full-time
About the position

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Migration Engineer with strong expertise in both Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure to lead a one-time cloud infrastructure migration project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing the current AWS environment and successfully migrating services to Azure while ensuring minimal downtime, cost efficiency, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end migration of cloud infrastructure from AWS to Azure
• Assess current AWS architecture, dependencies, and workloads
• Design and implement equivalent Azure-based solutions
• Migrate core services, including:
• Compute (EC2 → Virtual Machines)
• Storage (S3 → Blob Storage)
• Serverless (Lambda → Azure Functions)
• Databases (RDS / DynamoDB → Azure SQL / Cosmos DB)
• Networking (VPC → Virtual Network)
• Reconfigure identity and access management (IAM → Entra ID / RBAC)
• Migrate monitoring and logging (CloudWatch → Azure Monitor)
• Transition messaging and queueing systems (SQS / SNS → Azure Queue / Service Bus / Event Grid)
• Implement infrastructure as code using Bicep or ARM templates
• Migrate containerized workloads (ECS/EKS → AKS, ECR → Azure Container Registry)
• Ensure security best practices and compliance throughout migration
• Perform testing, validation, and optimization post-migration
• Document architecture, processes, and handover guidelines

Requirements
• Proven experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms
• Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects (AWS → Azure preferred)
• Strong knowledge of:
• Compute, storage, networking, and database services in both environments
• Identity and access management (IAM, RBAC, Azure AD/Entra ID)
• CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep, Terraform is a plus)
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
• Strong communicator — clear and concise across async and sync channels
• Self-directed — able to scope, prioritize, and execute with minimal hand-holding
• Comfortable with ambiguity — thrives in fast-moving, early-stage environments
• Detail-oriented — high bar for output quality and consistency
• Collaborative — works well with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Iterative thinker — ships incrementally, learns fast, and improves continuously

Nice-to-haves
• Azure or AWS certifications
• Experience with large-scale or enterprise migrations
• Cost optimization and cloud governance experience

Benefits
• High-Trust Environment: We hire adults. We don't track keystrokes or enforce arbitrary hours. We care about the quality of your output.
• Deep Work: We minimize meetings to protect your focus time. We operate asynchronously by default.
• International Standards: You will work with top-tier international clients, building systems that scale and handle real-world traffic.
• Real Strategic Influence: We expect engineers to drive technical decisions. You will have a direct hand in shaping the architecture and product roadmap.
• Autonomy by Default: We reject the traditional agency model of "churn and burn." We provide the context and the goal, then we trust you to execute.
• A Culture of Excellence: You will be surrounded by high-performers who push you to be better. We believe in continuous evolution and provide the environment you need to do the best work of your career.
• Top-of-Market Compensation: High base salary benchmarked against industry standards, plus annual performance-based bonuses.

• Professional Development Budget: We provide an annual budget for courses, certifications, books, and conferences. We want you to stay sharp.
• Time Off & Wellness: Generous paid leave policy, full medical coverage (HMO), and mental health support for you and your dependents.
