About the position
The Medical Lab Technician at Ochsner Health is responsible for receiving and preparing specimens, performing analytical laboratory tests, and ensuring quality control procedures are followed. Responsibilities
• Receive and prepare specimens according to standard protocols and procedures.

• Perform analytical laboratory tests and calculations according to section requirements and protocols.

• Conduct quality control procedures required for test performance.

• Calibrate, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment.

• Perform phlebotomy procedures as appropriate.

• Ensure confidentiality of patient-related information.

• Adhere to regulatory compliance guidelines and maintain competency.
Requirements
• Associate's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or military MLT certificate.

• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as Medical Lab Technician is required.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
,
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role.
