Job Description
MyOme is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Variant Interpretation Scientist to lead variant interpretation efforts. In this role you will help develop internal documentation including interpretation SOPs and reporting policies in collaboration with our clinical team.
Responsibilities
• Act as the primary point of contact for interpretation platform vendor(s), define requirements, and oversee implementation
• Maintain the end-to-end variant interpretation strategy, aligning with CLIA, CAP, and NYS requirements, and collaborate with Lab Director and clinical team
• Assist in validation of interpretation platform and laboratory processes for variant interpretation
• Assist with curation and harmonization of variant classification changes over time
• Perform secondary review of sequencing (Sanger, WGS) and other molecular data
• Assist in clinical interpretation for proactive health and rare disease applications, including evaluation of published literature and clinical data
Skills And Experience
• Master's Degree or PhD in molecular genetics, human genetics, or a related biological sciences field
• 2+ years of significant and relevant experience including variant classification in the context of rare disease and/or proactive health
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data from scientific publications
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently
Location, Compensation, and Benefits
• Location: Remote-friendly with preference for Bay Area or Eastern time zones. Occasional travel required for team meetings.
• Compensation: $100-150K/year depending on experience; equity; and the following benefits:
