Clinical Privileging Specialist

Responsibilities: The Privileging Specialist completes and processes hospital privilege applications and provides follow-up to ensure clinician is privileged to start on proposed target start date. Process hospital privilege applications on behalf of new and existing clinicians as needed Communicates on a regular basis with the medical staff offices to obtain status updates Maintains and updates credentialing database with status and necessary data elements Documents all tasks, phone calls, emails and other forms of communication during the credentialing process in the database Conducts written and verbal follow up to determine application status Escalates all issues to the appropriate members of management staff, region, and/or internal clinical onboarding team as necessary Responds promptly to all questions, received via phone or email, regarding privileges Communicates with all necessary internal departments as needed Develops and maintains good relationships with medical staff offices Participates in divisional huddle meetings Completes other tasks or projects as assigned Qualifications: Experience/Education: Two (2) years related privileging experience in healthcare.
