The Claims Adjuster is responsible for the day-to-day management of client claims, ensuring fair, timely, and accurate handling under contractual and federal liability rules. They serve as the primary point of contact for clients, balancing empathy with strict adherence to regulations, and protecting both the client’s rights and the company’s interests.

Key Responsibilities
• Investigate claims by reviewing documentation, photos, bills of lading, contracts, and inspection reports.
• Communicate directly with clients to collect information, clarify details, and manage expectations.
• Prepare detailed liability assessments in line with federal law (Carmack Amendment) and valuation agreements.
• Collaborate with dispatch, foremen, and warehouse staff to verify documentation accuracy.
• Determines responsible parties for the inconveniences caused.
• Maintain accurate claim records, supporting files, and settlement offers in the claims system.
• Prepare resolution offers balancing contractual liability with goodwill adjustments where appropriate.
• Ensure all claims are resolved within established timelines to avoid escalation.

Requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to de-escalate tense client situations.
• Knowledge of moving industry liability frameworks (RVP, FVP, Carmack Amendment).
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with ability to review documentation critically.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, dispatch, and finance teams.
• Strong written skills to draft clear, professional settlement offers and letters.
• Ability to work 6 days during the summer, during US PT time zone.
