Civil Engineer

The Entry- or Mid-Level Civil Engineer supports the analysis, design, and evaluation of concrete systems to ensure safety, performance, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities Assist in the analysis and design of concrete systems for buildings, infrastructure, and specialty applications Perform engineering calculations and prepare technical reports under the direction of senior engineers Support the development and review of construction documents, including drawings and specifications Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met Assist with resolving technical issues during design, testing, and construction phases Support evaluation of concrete materials, construction methods, and performance criteria Stay current with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices related to concrete and civil engineering Skills Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering Foundational knowledge of civil engineering and concrete design principles Internship, co‑op, or project experience involving concrete or construction Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills Ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months Familiarity with industry standards such as ACI, ASCE, and IBC Benefits 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance Company Overview Forta is a provider of healthcare services to help children with autism.
