Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Needed for Innovative Startup
We’re Playdate, a Dubai-based startup building the next generation of sports matchmaking — connecting people through the games they love. Our platform helps users find partners, join spontaneous games, and grow an active sports community around them. After successfully launching our MVP, we’re now looking for a Tech Lead / Senior Full Stack Developer to take over the existing codebase, build upon it, and lead the technical evolution of our app. What You’ll Do - Take ownership of the existing MVP codebase, understand the architecture, and ensure stability, scalability, and performance. - Align all development decisions with our product roadmap and growth strategy. - Build new features, refine current ones, and oversee full lifecycle implementation (architecture → development → testing → deployment). - Collaborate closely with the founding team to translate business needs into technical solutions. - Manage documentation, technical debt, and handoffs. - Advise on future stack improvements, integrations, and potential re-architecture when needed. What We’re Looking For ✅ Full-Stack Proficiency: Strong command of both front-end and back-end technologies — experience with React Native (mobile), Node.js, Express, MongoDB, AWS (or similar stack). ✅ Startup Experience: You’re used to fast-paced, iterative environments, can make product-minded decisions, and are comfortable working independently. ✅ Technical Leadership: Capable of taking technical ownership, mentoring others in the future, and ensuring alignment between code and company vision. ✅ Scalability & Security: Experience optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and data security. ✅ Payments & Integrations: Familiarity with payment gateways (Stripe, Mamo, etc.), APIs, and third-party services. ✅ Problem-Solving & Innovation: Proactive, resourceful, and driven to find smart solutions to tough challenges. ✅ Availability: Ideally full-time, but open to part-time transitioning to full-time depending on fit and contribution.
