Chapter Next Returnship - Technical Cost Analyst
About the position
The Chapter Next Returnship at Lockheed Martin is designed for individuals who have taken a career hiatus and are looking to re-enter the workforce. This 12-16 week paid returnship offers participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as a Technical Cost Analyst, focusing on technical cost management to enhance revenue and profit growth. Participants will receive training, professional development, and mentoring while working on diverse projects in a fully virtual environment.
Responsibilities
Ā Manage relationships with colleagues while working on multiple projects.

Ā Gather, manipulate, and record data using various digital systems.

Ā Track down necessary data by networking and building relationships.

Ā Build and document financial models to forecast costs for products.

Ā Write documentation and create presentations explaining models and processes.

Ā Make cost models accessible by developing prototypes of web interfaces.

Ā Perform other duties as needed to support team efforts.
Requirements
Ā Prior experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials, Aerospace Engineering, Procurement, Production Operations, Data Analytics, or similar fields.

Ā Experience with cost modeling software like SEER or TruePlanning.

Ā Familiarity with CAD software such as Creo or Catia and reading engineering drawings.

Ā Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Ā Experience in data analysis using tools like Excel, MATLAB, or Tableau.
Nice-to-haves
Ā Advanced engineering or systems thinking skills.

Ā Statistical capability and experience with descriptive statistics.
