Centralized Scheduling Coordinator- remote

About the position

Responsibilities
• Coordinate surgeries, procedures, exams, therapies, and evaluations for multiple departments and facilities.
• Serve as the central point of communication for referring physicians, patient services, and caregivers.
• Receive and manage incoming phone calls related to scheduling and coordination of patients and resources.
• Ensure compliance with scheduling policies and alert leadership of any discrepancies.
• Collect and evaluate patient demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
• Analyze clinical information to resolve scheduling conflicts for surgeries and procedures.
• Assist in updating guidelines and policies for scheduling practices.
• Schedule third-party resources, equipment, and providers to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain scheduling templates and monitor cancellations and rescheduling of cases.
• Ensure prior authorization for cases and inform patients of financial responsibilities.
• Create and run performance audit reports by department and modality.
• Obtain necessary paperwork for chart completion and ensure compliance with orders and consents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Associate Degree required or equivalent knowledge and skills through education, training, and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of scheduling and health records experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records system is required.
• Preferred experience in scheduling multiple healthcare departments and facilities.
• Preferred experience with compliance and legal documentation of medical orders and consents.
• Required certification if CNA or MA.

Nice-to-haves
• Knowledge of surgeries, procedures, and exams performed in a hospital or outpatient setting.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
