Bylaw Enforcement Officer - Municipal Enforcement Full-Time, Permanent As a member of our Municipal Enforcement team, you will \"Take Care of Banff\" by enforcing Town Bylaws and Parking Regulations. Your role contributes to sustainable transportation and vehicle management in Town, responding to and investigating Bylaw complaints. You will conduct proactive enforcement patrols in parking areas, focusing on paid parking and residential zones. Utilizing electronic ticketing and photo evidence, you will ensure accurate data entry and detailed record-keeping. Your interpersonal skills will help you engage with visitors and residents professionally, often handling emotionally charged situations with diplomacy and sound judgment. You will respond to service calls related to Bylaw complaints and collaborate with team members and other departments to gather evidence and resolve issues. Objectivity and decision-making based on evidence are crucial to your success. Administrative duties include reviewing and verifying Residential Parking Permits and working with electronic ticketing systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and enforcement software is advantageous. This role requires a uniformed presence in the community and the physical ability to patrol on foot or bicycle in various weather conditions. Cognitive skills such as emotional regulation, problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential. Preferred qualifications include related post-secondary education, enforcement-related experience, and familiarity with local government functions. A valid Alberta Class 5 driverβs license, a clear driver abstract, and a criminal background check are required prior to employment. Working safely is mandatory, and all employees are responsible for adhering to Occupational Health and Safety laws and Town safety protocols.
