Business Development Director – Manufacturing (Process & Industrial Machinery)

United States (Remote) | Base salary up to $250,000 + performance bonus

We are hiring on behalf of a global IT services and consulting firm for senior Business Development Directors to drive growth across the IoT and Digital Engineering practice within Manufacturing. We have openings across two sub-segments — Process Manufacturing (chemicals, food & beverage, pharma manufacturing, refining, paper) and Industrial Machinery, Automation & Controls (machine builders, equipment OEMs, automation customers) — and welcome candidates with deep industry expertise in either.

This role drives sales, manages high-value accounts, and builds partnerships for services spanning product engineering, software, hardware, manufacturing transformation, supply chain, and sustainability. The successful candidate will bring 13+ years of industry experience, a track record of shaping and closing complex engineering services deals, and the ability to engage senior engineering, plant, and procurement leaders as a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, sell, and manage Engineering, Manufacturing, and IoT Solutions and Services across either Process Manufacturing transformation services or Industrial Machinery / Automation & Controls accounts — covering end-to-end product engineering services, Edge-to-Cloud IoT platforms and applications, and the full product lifecycle management portfolio.
• Drive pipeline development and manage sales cycles to closure, contributing to revenue growth and market expansion by positioning IoT and engineering services to prospective and existing clients.
• Build and maintain account maps, identify high-potential opportunities, and shape go-to-market plans with technical and sales leadership.
• Engage senior client executives, engineering leads, and procurement stakeholders to build long-term partnerships.
• Monitor account performance, lead business reviews, and support relationship management to expand service footprint.
• Represent the firm at industry events and build visibility through thought leadership and client engagements.

Qualifications
• 13+ years of overall experience, including at least 5+ years of business development experience shaping and selling large-scale technology solutions.
• Deep domain knowledge in either process manufacturing industries (chemicals, F&B, pharma manufacturing, refining) OR industrial machinery, automation & controls, off-road equipment, machine builders, etc.
• Experience positioning offerings; developing and presenting proposals, value propositions, and business cases; and structuring complex deals.
• Working knowledge of Electronics / Embedded Product Development cycles including Hardware, Firmware, VLSI, Mechanical, Test & Validation, and Manufacturing.
• Strong technical credibility with the ability to engage customers through consultative selling.
• Ability to understand market and customer needs and partner with solution teams to develop industry-specific innovation.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary up to $250,000, plus performance bonus (eligibility and structure dependent on experience). Comprehensive Employee Benefits package included.
