Business Attorney (Part-time)
Collier Legal is seeking an associate Business Attorney to join the firm on a part-time basis. This position is not exclusive, and is perfect for solo practitioners or attorneys with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate may have additional employment, but must be highly responsive at all times. About Collier Legal Collier Legal is a rapidly growing business and IP firm, with a focus on intellectual property and corporate transactions. The firm is looking for attorneys to support this growth. Position Overview We are looking for business attorneys that can join the firm part-time. We expect to provide our candidate 10 hours per month to start. This will increase as we continue to grow. We are looking for candidates that are open to increasing workload and working with the firm long-term, even if a part-time relationship is maintained. We expect to have full time opportunities by the end of 2025. The selected candidate will be listed on the firm's website (name and picture only) and is ideally willing to be client-facing. A primary factor in our firm's growth is extended availability to clients and fast turnaround time. The ideal candidate is willing to correspond with clients and the firm after traditional business hours and will produce work quickly. Qualifications • Ohio bar license. • Experience with business formation. • Experience reviewing and drafting various commercial transactions including M&A, service agreements, NDAs etc. • Experience with IP matters (trademark filings, etc.) or willingness to learn. • Willingness to be listed on firm website. • Ability to communicate with clients. • Strong work ethic. • Attention to detail. • Strong communication skills. Responsibilities • Conduct thorough legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation. • Draft and review legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws. • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues regarding case developments and legal strategies. • Negotiate settlements and agreements, focusing on client interests in various legal matters. • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations, particularly in areas such as intellectual property and business law.
