Billing Specialist

They are seeking a Master File Maintenance Specialist to maintain and manage the master billing file, validate rate logic, and ensure data accuracy for assigned practice offices.ResponsibilitiesVerifying and opening all client matters and timekeeper master setups, including billing rates and exception rate hierarchiesConfirming client arrangements for special rate needsEnsuring the file set-up is done appropriatelyEvaluating and inputting the appropriate billing and exception rates into the Elite billing systemCoordinating with attorneys, legal secretaries, HR managers, and accounting personnel regarding the receipt of required data, supporting documentation, and approvals in accordance with billing policies and proceduresProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsSkillsPossess knowledge of basic accounting principlesExhibit the ability to comprehend and accurately perform mathematical functionsDisplay the analytical skills needed to correctly comprehend and communicate dataA high school diploma, preferably a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related fieldA minimum of one (1) year of experience in legal billing or billing audit within a professional services organizationA minimum of one (1) year of experience with the Elite Billing system, preferablyBenefitsHealthcare, life and disability insuranceA generous 401k planAt least 11 paid holidays per year, and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenureWell-being programs (e.g. mental health services, mindfulness and resiliency, medical resources, well-being events, and more)Professional development programsEmployee discountsAffinity groups, networks, and coalitions for lawyers and staffCompany OverviewLatham & Watkins is a global law firm with more than 3,500 lawyers in its offices located in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
