Bilingual Japanese/English Tax Accountant (CPA Firm) (CA/YM)
A CPA firm is looking for a Bilingual Japanese/English Tax Accountant to join their team. Visiting client location is in Torrance. This position is responsible for providing support to all tax accounting functions. A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, 2 years of public accounting experience, experience in preparing individual tax returns, filing corporate tax returns, and the ability to speak Japanese is required. This is a full-time, fully remote, non-exempt position with excellent benefits and 401k.
Bilingual Japanese/English Tax Accountant Duties
-Assists partners and managers on small and large international clients
-Records transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software program
-Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense
-Works effectively within given budgetary parameters; assist staff in prioritizing and managing their workload
-Prepares income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals, including federal and state tax returns for multi-state companies and consolidated returns for affiliated groups
-Creates financial statements for businesses from analyzing transactions, reconciling bank accounts and making adjustments to journal entries
-Conducts tax research to ensure compliance with tax law
Bilingual Japanese/English Tax Accountant Skills
-Minimum of 1 year experience in tax consulting/compliance within public accounting with a focus in International Tax, including but not limited to working on forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858 and 1118
-Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
-Must have 2 years of public accounting experience
-Experience in preparing individual tax returns for clients -Experience filing corporate tax returns for LLC, S-Corp and C-Corp
-Must be fluent in Japanese and English
