Education and Experience:
ā¢ 10+ years experience with agile software development
ā¢ Experience with cloud infrastructure management (AWS Terraform), serverless functions (AWS Lambda) and Kubernetes deployment pipelines
ā¢ Data engineering experience & familiarity with ETL patterns, data modeling, SQL, and data pipeline optimization
ā¢ Privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and data security best practices
ā¢ 5 + years designing CDP architectures & user behavior eventing infrastructure
ā¢ Experience with Typescript and NodeJS development for Express.js web apps a plus
ā¢ Experience with Linux command-line and Git
ā¢ Familiar with continuous integration
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
ā¢ Lead and implement a major project while supporting and consulting on other projects within the current software domain.
ā¢ Define and drive technical vision, strategy, and architecture for team-owned components.
ā¢ Take initiative to identify and solve important problems, possibly in unfamiliar areas, coordinating with others on cross-cutting technical issues.
ā¢ Self-assess knowledge gaps needed to effectively solve business problems and take proactive steps to fill them.
ā¢ Back up design decisions with empirical evidence through proof of concepts, tests, and/or external research.
ā¢ Collaborate with product management to align technical solutions with business goals.
ā¢ Should be flexible to solve customer issues/production issues according to urgency
ā¢ Partner with roadmap stakeholders to drive requirements that take into account all parties' needs.
ā¢ Deliver new functionality iteratively and incrementally, prioritizing business value.
ā¢ Independently work in unfamiliar areas of the codebase, identifying technical debt before it grows into significant issues.
ā¢ Understand architectural patterns (e.g., MVC, microservices) and apply them effectively in design decisions.
ā¢ Provide respectful and actionable technical guidance to peers via code reviews, mentorship, or other team processes.
ā¢ Communicate effectively across functions and work well with roadmap stakeholders.
ā¢ Lead idea implementation through community groups, aligning with 2U goals and sharing relevant information with team members.
ā¢ Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
ā¢ Evaluate and introduce new technologies and frameworks to improve development efficiency and product quality.
ā¢ Provide thought leadership in software engineering practices and methodologies.
ā¢ Act as a technical liaison with other teams and stakeholders.
ā¢ Lead by example through writing high-quality, maintainable code and adhering to best practices.
