They are seeking a junior litigation associate to join their insurance defense team in New Jersey, where the associate will gain hands-on experience in managing litigation files and supporting senior attorneys. Responsibilities Assist in managing litigation files and handling assigned tasks with increasing independence Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands/responses, and legal memoranda Support depositions and court appearances, with mentorship and supervision Conduct legal research and communicate with clients and carriers Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation Comply with reporting guidelines and firm procedures Skills Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Admitted to the New Jersey Bar 1-3 years of experience in litigation Prior law clerkship experience strongly preferred Interest in insurance defense, personal injury or general liability matters Prior internship/clinical experience in litigation or insurance defense (preferred) Strong research and writing skills Interest in insurance defense, personal injury or general liability matters Eagerness to learn, strong work ethic, and attention to detail Benefits Mentorship-Focused Supportive Team-First Culture Growth & Stability Work-Life Balance Company Overview Brooks & Berne PLLC is a minority owned firm where diversity is key.
