Role and Responsibilities
• Manage non-perishable and general merchandise operations under the direction of the Store Manager.
• Assist with inventory processes, visual merchandising, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Receive and process shipments, stock shelves, rotate merchandise, and ensure accurate product displays.
• Return recovered merchandise to its appropriate place and support accurate inventory control.
• Open and close the store at least once weekly; authorize returns, handle transaction overrides, and complete bank deposits.
• Support staff scheduling, enter payroll, and help maintain stock levels to meet in-stock objectives.
• Assist with planogram execution, merchandising setups, and seasonal promotions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized store environment by leading safety efforts and routine checks.
• Provide leadership and exceptional service in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Ensure team compliance with all company policies and operational standards.
• Operate the register and scanning systems, process payments accurately, and bag items as needed.
• Help execute the 7-Day Workflow Plan, including stock routines and Find-Fill-Fix practices.

Required Skills and Experience
• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• At least three years of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• One to two years in a leadership role within grocery or retail, or current Dollar General key carrier experience.
• Ability to review operational reports and implement needed adjustments.
• Knowledge of store security, cash handling, and key control procedures.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and ability to obtain necessary certifications.
• Experience with inventory, ordering, and merchandising processes.
• Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash transactions.
• Comfortable using retail systems and communication tools.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with employee recruitment, coaching, and terminations.
• Familiarity with executing planograms and managing seasonal product layouts.
• Knowledge of safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards in a retail setting.
