Associate Project Engineer, T-Line

The role involves providing technical engineering support, assisting project managers, and ensuring project scope and costs are effectively managed.ResponsibilitiesAssists with or conducts project walkdowns and works with project team, including both internal and external clients, to establish scope of work, schedule, and cost commitments. Gathers technical information from field data and project teamPrepares cost estimatesInvestigates resources required to complete engineering and project-related tasksEstablishes engineering schedulePrepares project forecast for engineering, tracks progress, updates as needed, and provides periodic updatesProvides guidance to design and contractor team members, and reviews design and technical documents. Coordinating with other lines of business, ensures designs and technical documents meet appropriate criteria, quality, and job scopeApproves revisions to existing drawings for routine projectsProcures long-lead time material for assigned projectsUnder direction, reviews and approves project material procurement list, vendor drawings, equipment specification updates, and engineering material requestsParticipates in periodic design review meetingsCoordinates project activities with other disciplines for routine projectsUnder direction, provides construction support and evaluates and makes recommendations to resolve field construction problemsSkillsBS Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited curriculum in the US or the equivalent from outside the USBasic knowledge of electric transmission lineBasic knowledge of project management principles1 year of experience in engineering and designCompany OverviewPacific Gas and Electric Company, incorporated in California in 1905, is one of the largest combination natural gas and electric utilities in the United States.
