Associate Counsel

Position Summary:TKO is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Counsel, Employment to provide practical and commercially sound advice in a fast-paced environment on legal issues in relation to a variety of employment matters in the Americas. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant legal experience, including advising on employment compliance, workplace policies, and employee relations issues. This role also includes occasional support for matters involving executive compensation and employee benefits, including the review of severance terms and equity documentation. This is a full-time position and will report to the VP & Counsel, Employment - Americas.Key Responsibilities:Provide day-to-day legal counseling to business leaders and human resources on a wide range of employment-related issues, including hiring, discipline, performance management, compensation, benefits, reasonable accommodations, and wage and hour compliance.Develop, implement, and ensure continued compliance with employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and manage workplace relationships.Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenants and workplace policies.Draft employment-related correspondence to current and former employees, including notices and other legal or HR communications, ensuring clarity, legal accuracy and alignment with company policies.Monitor changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and support implementation of compliant practices.Support litigation and pre-litigation employment matters, including working with outside counsel on strategy, case management and document gathering for discovery.Conduct legal research on current and emerging employment law issues, staying informed of changes in legislation and case law.Provide limited support on executive compensation and benefits matters, including severance agreements, offer letters with equity components, and compliance with Section 409A and related considerations.Communicate complex legal information to non-legal colleagues in a clear and concise manner.Qualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.3+ years of employment law experience, either in-house or at a law firm.Experience litigating employment lawsuits.Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Strong understanding of employment law principles, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, leave and accommodations, and employee relations.Working knowledge of ERISA, 409A, 280G, and other compensation-related statutes preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal partners.Skills & Attributes:Excellent organizational, drafting, and editing skills with attention to detail.Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Effective communicator with the ability to clearly present information to legal and non-legal audiences.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.Collaborative team player who is also capable of working independently with minimal supervision.Ability to identify and resolve legal issues.Strong understanding of U.S. labor and employment laws; exposure to Canadian and/or Latin American employment law is a plusPer local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the range shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.
