Role and Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Rural Carrier, you will support daily delivery operations by assisting in sorting and distributing mail while ensuring efficient and accurate service to USPS customers.
• Sort, load, and deliver mail and packages on assigned rural routes
• Operate a vehicle safely to transport mail to customers
• Provide friendly and professional service during customer interactions
• Maintain accurate delivery records and follow USPS delivery procedures
• Assist with collection of outgoing mail from customers and collection boxes
• Ensure timely and reliable delivery while meeting USPS quality standards
Required Skills and Experience:
• No degree required – open to entry level candidates
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle mail and packages up to required weight limits
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous delivery or customer service experience is a plus
• Familiarity with local routes and communities
