We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Programs to join our team at the David C. Driskell Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in managing, planning, and coordinating activities across our library, gallery, and archives. Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Programs will act as a direct assistant to the Director, providing administrative and communications support at a senior level. You will be responsible for managing the center's schedule of exhibitions and events, coordinating education programming, and marketing to both on-campus and external audiences. Additionally, you will lead the development program, including grant writing and donor relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the center's schedule of exhibitions and events
Coordinate education programming and marketing efforts
Lead the development program, including grant writing and donor relationship management
Provide administrative and communications support to the Director
Handle sensitive and complex issues in a professional and objective manner

Requirements:

B.A. in Art History, Museum Studies, Non-profit Management, or related fields
Minimum 5 years of full-time experience working in a museum or art gallery
Knowledge of collections management databases, cloud-based work management software, and Microsoft Suite
Demonstrated experience with grant writing, exhibition management, and budgeting
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a close, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's in Art History, Museum Studies, or related fields
Knowledge of artwork and items in the Museum's care, as well as museum theory and practices
