Assistant Controller (Fully Remote Anywhere in the U.S.)

About the Role:
As our Assistant Controller, your mission is to provide financial and accounting support to our organization in an accurate and efficient manner. You will be both hands-on and strategic in this role.
The Ideal Candidate:
CPA
Proficient in QuickBooks Online
Previous experience as an Assistant Controller
Demonstrates integrity and trustworthiness
Shows initiative and takes ownership
Achievement-focused, detail-oriented, self-starter
Organized, efficient, and accurate
Responsibilities:
Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes (accruals, allocations, )
Prepare financial
Maintain GL
Perform A/R & A/P
Reconcile bank and credit card
Prepare 1099-MISC forms on annual
Participate in Financial Planning, Cash Flow Management, and External Financial Audits.
Support Budgeting, Payroll, and Contract Administration.
Collaborate on corporate tax
Assist with financial and cost control process
Help with purchase accounting, related acquisition accounting, valuation issues, and due diligence, as needed.
Properly utilize knowledge of S. GAAP/ Accounting Standards Codification (ASC).
Maintain accounting procedures, analyzing current procedures and suggesting changes where needed.
Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant designation
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Previous experience as an Assistant Controller or equivalent position
Proficient in QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite
Ability to be hands-on and strategic, helping wherever necessary in a small business
Exceptional integrity and maintenance of confidential and sensitive information
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong detail orientation, organization, follow-through, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, flexibly shifting focus and priority according to business needs
Ability to build relationships, cultivate trust, and foster partnerships with all levels internally and externally
Positive “can-do” attitude and demeanor
Resourceful and proactive problem-solver
Self-motivated, results-oriented self-starter able to work efficiently from home
