The Art Director role involves creating, presenting, and producing original ideas for clients across digital and print platforms, while collaborating with various teams to ensure project success.ResponsibilitiesHelp develop content for a variety of print and digital projects, such as visual aids and websitesPrepare and edit layouts for concepts approved by the Client; choose and place all visual elements of the project, including type, illustrations, and photographs necessary to produce the intended image; layouts should contribute visual ideas, enhance the attractiveness of the message, and help to clarify and accent its meaning to the readerUnderstand the creative process and follow jobs from startup to completionDevelop understanding of basic marketing principlesPartner with account, copy and editorial staff on assigned brandsTake direction from supervisor on projects; work independently as determined by supervisorSecure approval for layouts and final art from the account executive/creative director and keep product team and creative management aware of pertinent account activityParticipate in kickoff and status meetingsContribute to proper safekeeping of artwork, photos, slides, etcMaintain personal graphic resources, visual data, samples, graphic standards and manuals, etcCheck and approve all visual materials through all stages of pre-production and productionIn person client travel is requiredSkillsUndergraduate degree in Design, Graphic Arts, Fine Arts or related fieldUnderstand the assigned brands, indications, therapeutic implications, and competition as well as regularly research trends in the appropriate areasBe adept at incorporating comments and changes in a timely and intelligent mannerOne or more years' experience designing for a communications agency; pharmaceutical or HCP advertising experience a plusDemonstrated proficiency in Photoshop, Quark, InDesign, IllustratorDigital experience and web, app, UX designA sense of design and branding, and an eye for detailSolid foundation in typography, layout, and design principlesStrong communication and presentation skills; excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skillsCompany OverviewThe next big thing in health starts here—where bold ideas, deep expertise, and powerful partnerships converge.
