Analyst, Investment Accounting
BCI Corporation is a leading provider of investment management services for British Columbia’s public sector. The Analyst will support daily net asset value validation and accounting for pooled funds and segregated investments while collaborating with various teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.ResponsibilitiesComplete daily net asset value (NAV) validation and accounting for pooled funds, and perform reconciliations for segregated investments in line with procedures and internal control requirementsWork with vendors, internal teams, and departments to identify and resolve routine accounting issues related to investment structuresSupport year-end activities, including pooled fund distributions, tax calculations, financial statements, and regulatory reportingAssist with asset class valuation activities and the preparation of working papers for audit and tax purposesSupport Associate and Senior Analysts in investigating and resolving accounting matters as requiredBuild and maintain an understanding of BCI’s clients, asset classes, investment structures, and end-to-end finance processesTransform complex datasets from BCI’s Enterprise Data Platform into accurate, reliable reports and insightsContribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of finance processes and solutions aligned to client and asset class needsIdentify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and the thoughtful use of AIEnsure reporting and processes align with audit, internal control, and risk management frameworksSkillsUniversity degree or Diploma in a related fieldEligible for a professional accounting designation (CPA) or an intermediate student in a professional accounting program or equivalent1-2 years accounting experienceA basic knowledge of the securities markets and investment accountingExcellent interpersonal abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detailAbility to plan assigned workload to meet strict deadlinesAdvanced level Excel and Power Query skills and current experience with an industry standard accounting platformExperience evaluating current business processes and systems for improvement, automation and efficiencyStrong work ethic, desire for continuous learning, receptive to new ideas and embraces innovationProficiency in using AI tools and software for content creation, analysis, and distribution is a strong assetBenefitsPerformance-based incentive planComprehensive health & dental benefitsDefined benefit pension planPaid time offCompany OverviewBCI is an investment management company that invests across a range of asset classes and strategies in both public and private markets.
