About the position
As an Amazon Fulfillment Center Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for preparing customer orders. This role is fast-paced and physically demanding, taking place in various areas of the warehouse including merchandise handling, make-on-demand services, customer returns, Prime Now, and general fulfillment. Your primary responsibilities will include selecting, packing, and shipping orders, sometimes for our expedited delivery service that promises delivery in two hours or less. In this position, you will be tasked with receiving and organizing inventory, preparing customer orders for shipment, and loading boxes onto trucks. You will utilize scanners to read bar codes and follow prompts on screens to complete tasks efficiently. Troubleshooting issues and ensuring that products meet quality standards will also be part of your daily responsibilities. Additionally, you will operate powered industrial trucks (PIT), such as forklifts and pallet drivers, and may work at heights of up to 40 feet, with training and certification provided at no cost. Physical requirements for this role include the ability to lift up to 49 pounds, push utility carts weighing up to 60 pounds, and perform various movements such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout your shift. You may also need to navigate stairs and work in varying temperatures, as well as in a noisy environment. Safety is a top priority, and you will be provided with protective gear and safety training to ensure a secure working environment.
