We're seeking a skilled Scrum Master to facilitate Agile delivery for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program. As a remote team member, you'll serve as a team facilitator, ensuring Agile principles and best practices are followed to drive team performance, stakeholder collaboration, and incremental delivery of high-value solutions.
Position Overview:
In this role, you'll bring hands-on experience in Scrum and Kanban methodologies, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to guide Agile teams in a mission-focused federal environment. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality solutions and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure team progress and alignment.
Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize and refine product backlogs, ensuring they are well-defined, actionable, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
Remove impediments to team progress, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and supporting the team in achieving their goals.
Track and analyze Agile metrics, such as velocity, burn-down, and team performance, to inform reporting and stakeholder transparency.
Coach team members and stakeholders in Agile values, principles, and practices, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Support user story development, acceptance criteria, and refinement sessions to ensure high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
Utilize Agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence, to facilitate backlog management, documentation, and collaboration.
Requirements:
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
7+ years of experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and removing blockers for Agile teams.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Scrum, Kanban, and familiarity with SAFe.
Proficiency in Agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder relationships.
Ability to support Agile delivery teams in a hybrid/distributed work environment.
Prior experience on federal or DHS-related IT projects strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Scrum certifications, such as A-CSM, CSP, or equivalent.
Experience with Lean or other Agile scaling frameworks (e.g., LeSS, SAFe).
Background in software development or technical project delivery environments.
Experience supporting Agile transformation initiatives in large government or enterprise settings.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
